A friend made the suggestion to place a page of related sites, and to tell you the truth it's an honor to do so. Please, if you can help these wonderful organization, do so.
MySips Tea,
I know when you look at the title of the site, the first thing you wonder is why I put this on this page. Here is that reason. "Our Company is MySips Tea Company and we were founded by a Registered Nurse,
one of our main missions is charity, we donate all of our merchandise
proceeds to charity (For Alexander) - to the National Downs Syndrome
Foundation. As medical professional we have seen the ravages of poor health and poor choices. But caring was not enough, and we needed to do more... We operate with more than a monetary purpose. The relationships with our customers and our impact on the world is at the core of our mission. We dedicate much care in our product production, hand-blending each order for your pleasure. " This is a quote from the email I received from this site. And they mean it. They want to bring healthy alternatives to you with 100% organic teas, plus help the National Downs Syndrome Foundation. When I read this, I knew I couldn't do the same old link for their site.
Complete Depression guide,
When I was first asked to exchange links with this site, I just knew I couldn't do the same old text link. This is a great site. Most people don't understand just how devastating depression can be. It can totally wreck your life. Make you feel as if no one cares. This site tells you all about depression and the effect it can have, the symptoms to look for and possible cures. Depression is the leading cause of teen suicide. Please go to this site and read up on this subject. I promise you won't be disappointed when you do.
Angels of Destiny,
Their Mission Statement: is a ministry that give Anointed Angels to people who are seriously ill, or going through a severe physical hardship. These hand painted, handmade angels are handmade by people who love the Lord Jesus. They are anointed with oil and prayed over. There is no charge for the Anointed Angels, but donations are accepted and volunteers are encouraged to continue to bless others with Anointed Angels.
What I Saw: I was contacted by this organization just the other day. They were wanting to help my with my program. I was so touched by the thought that I had to check out this site. I was very glad that I did. These people give their time in the hopes of helping others. This organization does not just send these angels to children, they send them to anyone that is going through a physical hardship. This is such a nice thing they do, please help out if you can.
Angels for Hope,
Their Mission Statement: Our mission is to help people of all ages in need of hope or a smile. We want people to know there are others out there who care and let them know they are not alone in this world. All of the Angels for Hope members have hearts of gold, and they want to share the gift God has given them by bringing hope and smiles to anyone who desperately needs it. All the angels, butterflies and smiley faces for Hope are sent free of charge and carry with them love, hope and prayers.
Angels for Hope are available free of charge to those who are severely injured and/or chronically ill, as well as their caregivers or anyone in need of hope.
What I Saw: I was amazed at what I found out about the program when I visited their site. Kellly (the president of the organization) took 15 members and turned it into a very great thing. I like the fact that they do not charge anyone requesting these angels. She does ask for volenteers to crochet the angels, butterflies or smiley faces. So if you are any good at crocheting, please go there and help. This is a very worth cause that I will always support.
Children With AIDS Project of America,
Their Mission Statement: The aim of the Children With AIDS Project of America (CWA) is to transform the silence that surrounds HIV infected, affected children and AIDS orphans into an audible sound. This sound must be amplified until the needs are met for all children in the nation and globally affected by the AIDS epidemic.
What I Saw: That is there mission, but they do a lot more than that. They take children with a life threatening disease and give them hope. Most children get AIDS because of their parents, not from anything they have done, yet they are punished. This organization takes these children and tries to give them as normal a life as possible.
Children Hospice International,
Their Mission Statement: Hospice care for children is a team effort that provides medical, psychological, social and spiritual care. We recognize the right and need for children and their families to choose health care and support whether in their own home, hospital, or hospice care facility.
What I Saw: "A parent should never have to choose between hospice care and hope for a cure." That was on the first page of the site, and it touched my heart so much that I had to use it in my description. In my opinion, that should be there mission statement. They firmly believe this, and you can tell it when you go to their site.
Earth Action Network,
Their Mission Statement: A non-profit, environmental/social justice organization dedicated to the prevention of Earth-damaging developments. With EAN, you can subscribe to receive several action letters each month in your mailbox. Your letters are pre-addressed from you to your elected officials, world leaders and other people of influence. All you need to do is sign and send them. This is your chance to spend ONLY a few minutes a month to help preserve this planet for future generations.
What I Saw: I know this site doesn't deal directly with children, but it does try to help our children none the less. A clean environment is just as important to our children as most anything else. In a message she sent to me she said this, "I learned of a Kenyan proverb yesterday: Earth was not given to us by our parents; it was loaned to us by our children." That is a very true statement, if only more people would understand this.
Our Crowded Planet,
Their Mission Statement: To resolve our planet's growing crisis through education of the general public, reasoned activism and governmental resource utilization.
What I Saw: I know this site doesn't deal directly with children either, but it does try to help our children as well. Adults teach our children hate and racism. That is not something I believe in. They do not promote violence to get their point across. They promote education and understanding. They promote goodness and kindness, that all are equal. A person can look different, act different and believe different. That is no reason to hate someone, and they try to get this point across.
UNICEF,
Their Mission Statement: UNICEF is the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized. We believe that nurturing and caring for children are the cornerstones of human progress.
What I Saw: This organization is a voice for all children. They make sure children get needed health care, and things we consider basic human needs. They want all children to be safe, happy and healthy. This is a great organization to work with. If you can, please help by donating to them. www.supportunicef.org
Their Mission Statement: We believe all children have unique needs and should grow up without the burden of illness and injury.
What I Saw: They provide health care to the children in their care, dosed with love, which is as it should be. All People put the needs of the children first.
